Team Leader (29) Eirin Orset at Avonova Helse was named "Young Leader of the Year in Romerike" at the Lillestrøm Conference.
Three candidates – all under 40 years old – were nominated for the award, which was established by Kunnskapsbyen and Romerikes Blad.
– This was truly a surprise. But I had a feeling something was up when the jury started talking about growth in employee numbers, says Eirin Orset.
She was beaming after winning the prestigious award, in fierce competition with the two other finalists; CEO Waleed Aftab (26) at X Bilsenter and Mia Isabela Bustamante Korneliussen (28) who runs Venus Cafe& Lounge.
A total of 28 nominations were received for "Young Leader of the Year in Romerike".
The bar is set high
The award is given to a young leader in the business community who has distinguished themselves by building the company's reputation, implementing restructuring, and contributing to diversity, innovation, competence development, or reduced absenteeism.
Last year, Rajan Jaffary at Toyota Romerike won.
This year's winner, Eirin Orset, leads a team that provides work-oriented rehabilitation. She makes a point of taking time for her employees. She is happy to share some good advice for other young leaders:

The jury highlights Orset's ability to achieve results quickly, combined with a strong commitment to her employees.
She is an inspiring driving force in the workplace, building teams, developing people, and enabling them to succeed, according to the award citation.
Eirin Orset herself gives much of the credit to her colleagues for everything they have achieved together – which enabled her to receive the award.
This year's jury consisted of Anette Gangnæs (Kunnskapsbyen, jury chair), Mads Ynge Storvik (Romerikes Blad), Karina Selland (Ung i Næring / Advokatfirmaet Halvorsen & Co), and Kamilla Kilmork (Oslofinér).
