Digital security is about strategic choices. It is not a choice that is about technology.
Norwegian companies are digital and have become extremely dependent on these systems functioning as they should.
– This entails security risks that everyone is exposed to. Business leaders who think their company is too small to be a target, or who believe they are not in a vulnerable industry, are mistaken, says Roar Thon, Director of Security at the Norwegian National Security Authority (NSM).

On Tuesday, September 1st, he will attend the meeting of the Kunnskapsbyen Executive Leadership Network. There, he will address, among other things, the geopolitical backdrop, what it means for us locally, and the digital threats we are facing.

Extortion
The intruder does not necessarily have to be looking to steal something from you, he points out. It could just as easily be to put the company out of action – and force it to pay. Digital burglars enter wherever they can to look for opportunities to carry out extortion.
Good security is crucial for doing business in the future. Roar Thon emphasizes that security has become a competitive advantage that is becoming increasingly important – for all suppliers.
– Sound security strategies are also crucial for subcontractors, he emphasizes.
