Energigass Norge is committed to sustainable value creation, says Director Geir A. Mo. To achieve this, we must, among other things, become better at utilizing biogas from food waste, livestock manure, and industrial production.
Energigass Norge (EGN) is an industry association for the Norwegian energy gas sector.
– We bring together the entire value chain, from production, distribution, and transport to technology, infrastructure, and the use of biogas, natural gas, hydrogen, and propane. Energigass Norge aims to contribute to increased value creation and a safe, efficient, and sustainable use of energy gases in Norway, says Director Geir A. Mo.
Our member companies provide energy and energy solutions to industry, the transport sector, the maritime sector, construction, and many other parts of Norwegian business.
– We are joining Kunnskapsbyen to gain access to valuable networks for professional development and knowledge sharing. Kunnskapsbyen appears to be a professional organization focused on forward-leaning innovation and development. This is important for everyone committed to sustainable value creation, says Mo.
A link to the authorities
EGN is a member-funded organization where the businesses set the direction for our work. Through our board, administration, expert committees, networks, and other meeting places, we gather the expertise of the industry and develop common positions on issues that are important to our members.
– We aim to be a clear link between the industry and authorities, politicians, organizations, and other decision-makers. At the same time, we want to be a professional meeting place where members across the value chain can share knowledge, develop solutions, and raise issues that individual companies would struggle to solve alone, points out Geir A. Mo.
Sustainable energy
The organization works to ensure that energy gases have their natural place in the Norwegian energy and climate system. Norway needs more renewable energy, lower emissions, and greater energy flexibility, while simultaneously ensuring competitiveness, security of supply, and emergency preparedness.
Technology-neutral framework conditions are crucial for biogas, hydrogen, and other renewable gases to compete on equal terms with other climate and energy solutions.
– We believe that existing gas infrastructure and expertise are a resource in the transition, and that the shift from fossil to renewable gases must take place in a way that cuts emissions, creates value, and secures energy supply, emphasizes Mo.
