The transport company Fredstad Logistikk is well underway with replacing fossil-fuel vehicles with electric trucks.
"We need an arena where we can work closely with technology and knowledge environments. Kunnskapsbyen is such an arena for collaboration and innovation," says Hans Martin Fredstad, CEO of Fredstad Logistikk.
He lives in Lillestrøm himself and owns companies within real estate, transport and logistics, rentals, and workshops in the municipality. He believes all of these benefit from the membership in Kunnskapsbyen.
12 electric trucks on the way
Fredstad is committed to zero-emission trucks and sustainability, and has already gained some experience in this area after the transport company put its first electric truck into service in May.
"We now have two new vehicles on order for delivery in January, and another 10 vehicles on order for delivery throughout the spring," he says.
To succeed commercially with this green initiative, the carrier is entirely dependent on Enova support and toll exemptions.
"In addition, we need transport buyers who demand emission-free solutions and a stable electricity price," says Hans Martin Fredstad.
Started in 2002
Fredstad Logistikk AS was established in 2002 and has since developed into a solid player in the transport sector. Today, the company operates 54 of its own trucks and has a dedicated team of around 80 employees.
"We primarily transport food and other goods for the food industry, wholesalers, and producers. In addition to hauling customers' trailers, we also have our own fleet of trailers that can handle various types of goods. We are proud to offer customized transport solutions tailored to our customers' needs," says Hans Martin Fredstad.
