Chief Engineer Jarle Gran at Justervesenet gave Malin Lundberg an overview of the work at the "light lab," where they conduct world-leading research in optical measurement technology.

"I've been involved in many exciting things in Kunnskapsbyen and met many knowledgeable people. There's always a lot happening here," says Malin Lundberg.

The economics student from NTNU in Trondheim is working as a summer intern in Kunnskapsbyen. Among other tasks, she has been assigned to update the membership register and the websites.

"I've had the opportunity to work on many varied and exciting tasks, but what I've enjoyed most has been going out and visiting the member companies," admits the girl from Rælingen.

Gathering Member Stories

The purpose of these visits has been to contribute to building the "show, don't tell" overview for the NODE60 innovation district.

"I've been surprised by how many exciting companies and projects exist in the region. It's been really fun to get up close and see everything that's actually happening."

Justervesenet is one of the members that has made an impression on her. As a research institute and directorate for measurement technology, with a history dating back to 1832, Justervesenet ensures the quality and precision of measurements that keep society running.

"They are the cornerstone of fair trade. Accurate measurements are crucial for trust in society," she says.

Contributing New Impulses

Malin is adept at research. She takes on new tasks thrown her way with ease – and solves them reliably and efficiently.

– She shows us the value of bringing in new expertise. Malin also gives us a valuable 'outside-in perspective' on Kunnskapsbyen, says CEO Inger-Lise M. Nøstvik.

She is also eager to receive new input from younger employees.

– For us, it's great to have young people on the team. They are the ones who will carry this forward, says Nøstvik.

During her period at Kunnskapsbyen, Malin Lundberg revealed an unknown superpower. She possesses surprisingly good golf skills!

As soon as summer is over, she will continue her studies – but this time in Brisbane, Australia.
